FAQs

What is the goal of this solidarity mission?

To volunteer wherever possible.  We will be helping evacuees and soldiers by preparing food and packages.  We will visit the wounded at hospitals.  If relevant, we will make shiva calls.  We will meet with evacuees to hear their stories and give them support.  We will also support the families of the hostages.  The itinerary is active and with little free time.  There is no “sightseeing” or other types of activities.  Given the nature of the needs which change daily, we will need to be flexible.

Who can sign up?

This is a women’s mission.  We will be volunteering in a variety of settings so any woman who can lift, sort, cook, and schlep is welcome.  A good attitude is a must!

Are flights being arranged for this mission?

No.  This is a Land Only program and each participant is responsible for planning her own flights.  Most airlines are not flying to Israel at this time except for El Al.  If you need help planning your flights, we recommend contacting Claude of Field Travel at mrfield@verizon.net

What if I arrive early or wish to stay after the mission dates?

No problem!  Let us know if you would like to arrange a pre-arrival at the Inbal Hotel or extend your stay.  If you need help arranging airport transfers, let us know.  Contact Einav at einav@keshetisrael.co.il

What if I have a place to stay in Jerusalem and don’t need hotel accommodations?

Great!  You can register for the trip as “Group Only” with a special price without the hotel.  You will be responsible for your own transportation to/from the Inbal Hotel each day.

I’m traveling alone but would like to share a room to save the cost of a single room.  Will you help me find a roommate?

Yes.  Just note when registering that you’d like to be in a double room and we’ll match you with another woman with the same request.

I’d like to bring supplies for the evacuees or soldiers.  What do you suggest?

That’s great! (but not required in anyway) Here is a partial list:

  • Socks and underwear for men, women, and children in all sizes

  • Coloring books for adults and children

  • Colored pencils, crayons

  • Travel sets of backgammon, checkers, or chess or other games that don’t require English

  • Teddy bears

  • “Leatherman” multi-tools

  • Head lamps (flashlights with head straps) plus batteries

  • Olive colored Fleeces

Please be aware that El Al may charge you for additional bags and that Israeli customs may also stop you after baggage claim.

When do I fill out the waiver mentioned in the pricing sheet?

After you register and we make the minimum group size, we will send you the waiver to fill out by email as well as your invoice for full payment due immediately. At that time, you should go ahead with booking your flights.

Waiver

Israel is currently facing a challenging time. However, we want to assure you that Keshet, as the organizer of this trip, is committed to prioritizing your safety and well-being above all else.

Before joining us on this journey, we kindly request that you sign a waiver acknowledging the current war situation in Israel. This waiver will state that Keshet cannot be held responsible for any harm caused by the war. It is a standard precautionary measure that allows us to proceed with the trip while ensuring everyone's understanding of the risks involved.

Rest assured, our team is closely monitoring the situation, working in collaboration with local authorities and experts to ensure the highest level of security and support for our participants. Your safety remains our utmost priority.
